We are a group of teachers in Guatemala teaching Spanish to students all over the world! We formed our group over 15 years ago under a Fair Trade concept that enables entrepreneur-minded teachers to afford our own equipment to work independently. This allows us to directly earn most of the lesson tuition without incurring high fees that larger language teaching institutions charge to the teachers.

Each of us works very closely with our students by customizing lesson plans to their individual needs.

Each online Spanish tutor is an independent contractor who sets her own hours depending on her availability. They have all been teaching Spanish online for over 20 years!

Pronto Spanish provides a forum for these amazing Spanish tutors in Guatemala to teach online and to bring you the best way we know to learn Spanish – by having authentic conversations with native speakers!

 FAQs

  • You can pay either for each class as you go or you can buy a Package of 10 classes at the Schedule page. The package will give you a "code" that you use to purchase your classes.

  • No, each lesson is customized for your needs. If you need to learn Spanish for a particular situation, your coach can customize vocabulary for you. If you want to learn more grammar, she has resources for this as well. Simply let your tutor know what your goals are and a customized plan will be developed for you.

  • After you schedule your lesson, your tutor will send you a link for you to join. Simply click on the link at the appropriate scheduled time and start conversing!

  • Absolutely! We have 6 tutors with 6 different personalities and teaching styles. Try one or try them all! We offer a free 30-minute lesson, so feel free to use this option for more than one tutors.

  • No problem! Just make sure you give at least 24 hours notice so that the tutor can open up her schedule for another student. You will be able to reschedule directly from the confirmation email you receive from the first time your schedule - or by logging into your account.

  • Pronto Spanish is committed to providing a stable income for the tutors. We only take $2/lesson, which pays for the website hosting, scheduling system, and monthly money transfer to Guatemala. The rest goes directly to the tutor.

  • In the scheduling system, there is an option to tip for individual lessons. This is not required - simply an option. If you choose to tip, 100% of the tip goes directly to your coach.

    Tipping or gifting for special occasions can be done through the Payment window after selecting the lesson date and time. Simply enter the desired amount in the “Additional Payment” section at the bottom.

    If you're using a lesson package, please note that credit card information must be re-entered to process the additional payment.
